Toronto, ON — April 29, 2022 — Jobber, the leading provider of home service management software, announced that its Chief People Officer, Sara Cooper, was awarded a 2022 Report on Business Best Executive Award by The Globe and Mail. The award recognizes the best Canadian leaders at the SVP, EVP, and C-suite levels. Cooper was one of only 10 winners named in the Human Resources category.
Under Cooper’s leadership, Jobber has more than doubled its headcount, which now exceeds 550. She introduced new programs and initiatives to ensure the company’s people continue to feel connected in a hybrid work environment, while also maximizing their development while at Jobber.
“Sara always seeks to qualify insights and decisions with data and supporting information in order to remain objective and calm in the face of new challenges,” said Sam Pillar, co-founder and CEO at Jobber. “It’s this analytical thinking combined with her compassion and empathy that makes her such a great leader. She’s helped to take Jobber’s culture to new heights and everyone within the company is better for it.”
Winning executives for 2022 were chosen after a call for nominations for leaders in public and private businesses, not-for-profits, and academic institutions. Nominations for the Best Executive Awards were evaluated by the Report on Business editorial team based on career background, leadership style, achievements, and impact. Winners are profiled editorially in the April issue of Report on Business magazine, which publishes online today and in print April 30.
“It’s a thrill to be named among such an elite group of Canadian business leaders,” said Cooper. “I strongly subscribe to the concept that you win as a team and lose as a team. This recognition would not be possible without the outstanding contributions of Jobber’s entire People team and the organization’s overall commitment to creating a transparent, collaborative, inclusive, and innovative workplace.”
Cooper was recently recognized by Business INSIDER as one of the 25 Most Innovative HR Leaders for 2022. Jobber was previously named a platinum winner by Canada’s Most Admired Corporate Cultures™, recognized as one of Canada’s Best Workplaces by Great Place to Work®, and appeared on the Best Workplaces™ lists for hybrid work, inclusion, mental wellness, women, technology, youth, giving back, and more. Jobber also appeared on Canadian HR Reporter’s Best Places to Work 2021 and Innovative HR Teams 2021 lists.
