Jobber CEO Recognized With Business in Edmonton 2022 Leaders Award

Toronto, ON — November 21, 2022 — Jobber, the leading provider of operations management software for home service businesses, today announced that its CEO and co-founder Sam Pillar has been recognized with a Business In Edmonton 2022 Leaders Award. The awards program is designed to spotlight business leaders who focus on their team and community, are resilient and adaptive in the face of change, and lead with empathy. Winners of this award are selected by an independent panel that assesses each nominee across a broad spectrum of criteria. All 2022 Leaders Award winners can be found in this special edition of Business in Edmonton.

“While it is an honour to be recognized among such a great group of business leaders, I truly view this as an award that celebrates the hard work and contributions of every individual at Jobber,” said Pillar. “It requires a collective effort to build a company that has a strongly aligned culture, a genuine passion for helping its customers succeed, and an unwavering desire to have a positive impact.”

Under Pillar’s leadership, Jobber has established itself as a leader within Alberta’s technology sector. In 2021, Jobber won the Tech Deal of the Year Award presented by Start Alberta after raising a $60 million equity round. In 2020, Pillar and co-founder Forrest Zeisler were inducted into the Junior Achievements of Northern Alberta & NWT Alberta Business Hall of Fame. In 2019, Pillar won the Fast Growth Award presented by BDC at the 2019 Start Alberta Tech Awards and was named a finalist for the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year award in the Prairies region. Pillar has also previously been named a recipient of the Startup Canada Award in the category of Entrepreneur of the Year.

As part of his commitment to the local community, Pillar is also passionate about supporting the next wave of entrepreneurs. In January 2018, Jobber launched JUMP, a company-sponsored initiative to help post-secondary students make the leap from post-secondary to careers. JUMP plans and executes several events a year, such as panels and workshops, and is fully run by Jobber employees who volunteer their time and skills to teach others.

Pillar currently has a 100% approval rating on Glassdoor and the company was recently ranked as a Top 5 Best Workplace in Canada by Great Place to Work.
