Jobber promotes Sara Cooper to Chief People Officer

TORONTO, October 9, 2020Jobber, the leading provider of home service management software, today announced the promotion of Sara Cooper to Chief People Officer effective immediately. Sara joins Jobber’s C-Suite team composed of CEO & Co-founder, Sam Pillar; CTO & Co-founder, Forrest Zeisler; and CRO Shawn Chadeau.

“It’s an honour to have Sara moving into the role of Chief People Officer,“ says Pillar. “Jobber wouldn’t be where it is today without its people. Sara does an exceptional job of building a supportive, growth-centric environment that helps us attract the right people in a competitive market. She has shown incredible leadership in helping to scale the company and I can’t imagine a better person for this role.”

Since joining the company in 2019, Sara has helped Jobber grow from 154 people to 233 across its head office in Edmonton and second office in Toronto. Through her leadership, the company launched its professional development strategy focused on learning, skills development and coaching. This function aims to bring people into the company at the early-to-mid career level and provide them with development opportunities to progress their careers while adding value to the company over the long-term.

“Working for an organization like Jobber has been a career highlight,” says Cooper. “I’m proud of the world-class team we are building in pursuit of our mission to help people in small business be successful, and I look forward to the next chapter with Jobber.”

Over the past year, Sara and the People Team introduced several resources and programs to support employees during the COVID-19 pandemic, including job-protected leaves, the option for reduced work schedules, and “Wellness Fridays”, which granted everyone at the company four extra paid days off throughout the summer. Sara led the decision to move Jobber into a hybrid working model in 2021, where employees will be given the choice to work either 100% remote or onsite in Jobber’s Edmonton or Toronto offices once they reopen.

In 2019, Jobber was named a top 10 workplace by Great Place to Work and one of the Best Workplaces for women, inclusion, millennials, technology, Alberta, mental wellness, and giving back. The company is currently hiring for roles across several departments

Prior to Jobber, Sara Cooper served in key roles at OMERS Ventures, FreshBooks, and Microsoft Canada.
